Vidyasagar Eye Care Centre

This centre was started in 2002 with an objective to control blindness and provide better & low cost eye care facility for the deprived people of this area, with the help of few NRI (Non Residential Indian) people in U.S.A & Canada. Because in our area there was no such facility. Old people were bound to go more than 70 K.M. to avail this facility. Old people from the remote could not avail this facility. Sometimes their family does not take much care to them. This centre has received necessary license from District Health Department. People are getting regular Treatment and operation facilities. Under N.P.C.B. programme Govt. of India, we are doing free cataract Surgery here. Every year average 1,500 to 2,000 cataract operations are being done here. We organize many out-reach eye screening camps in remote areas with the help of many youth clubs to identify the cataract patients. We bring them from their area through our transportation facility. Because of that a good number of old people are being benefitted through our eye care centre. Moreover, we are running regular out door to provide low cost treatment facility to the eye patients five days in a week with four qualified doctors. Average 25 to 40 eye patients are coming here in a day.
