HELP TO POOR
SGUS act in many different ways to fight poverty in these areas from emergency programmes for persons in distress to long term support actions to enable persons in distress to long term support actions to enable persons to rebuild their lives if necessary and find their place in society as actors and thus recover their fundamental right to a dignified life. One of the greatest success of SGUS is to inform the inward and outward community and mobilize resources for poverty eradication. They often work in partnership with persons living in poverty and social exclusion, and with public institutions and local structures to facilitate access by the poor to different social services. Some examples are as follows :
- Extended financial support to as much as 250 people of the area for the purpose of education of poor students, so that they can continue their education without a fear of drop out.
- Provide nearly 1000 families with food packets, paddy & vegetables seeds, chicks for poultry at the time of COVID 19 pandemic as well as in AMPHAN & YASH CYCLONE . Affected families were provided with Tarpaulin sheets, lime for cleaning ponds, fingerlings for fisheries, vegetables seeds, food packets, cloths medicines kits etc. More than 5000 people were benefited with this assistance.
